‘At the Window’s Edge’

Featured in the Signal Arts Center members exhibition in Bray, Co. Wicklow, April 2024

At the Window’s Edge
‘At the Window’s Edge’ is a mixed media painting and a reflection of my own personal experiences. Whenever I find myself in the south of France, surrounded by villages steeped in history, my first instinct is to open a window and take in the view. As is common in this area, beyond the rooftops, my gaze is drawn upward to an imposing ramparts, castle or dwellings perched high, overlooking the village - a sight that stirs my curiosity and ignites a longing to explore further. There is often a stillness in the air, a connection to the past that strikes me as I stand at the window’s edge, absorbing the history all around me. This piece is  made with collage and acrylic paint giving a lot of textures, on wood panel (40x30cm)

Collage and acrylic painting.

Size: 30 cm x 40 cm on 1.8 cm D wooden panel
