November news

Hello everyone, how are you? We are still in lockdown in Ireland and I know some of you in other countries are too. I hope you are managing ok and things are good and you are keeping well and safe. Soon it will turn out better, it has too!
How do you feel about November? I don’t know about you, but I do enjoy walking at sunset. They are still so many beautiful colours to see in nature. I am especially drawn to the greys and blues at dusk. At sunset, there is a different atmosphere. Things are slowing down, there is still a little buzz in the air, a mysterious feeling somehow. What’s your favourite time of the day for walking, jogging, running, cycling…?
The past few months have been hectic on my side, mostly because of family matters. I have managed to work but it has been quite sporadic. I still can’t believe it is already the middle of November. Rewinding a bit brings me back to September , when I exhibited in the Signal Arts Centre, in Bray, as part of our Liminal Art group. It was quite a challenge as some restrictions were still on. But we were lucky and I can not thank enough the people who visited and supported us. I was amazed by the nice comments I received and support from all. Thank you!

Apart from finishing some pieces I started this year, I am currently looking at new projects. Lately I have been looking at bridges, particularly the ones I encountered during some travels. I find the combination of their strength and lightness so empowering. Their symbolism, aesthetics, the connection they bring, their structural elements are part of my research. When looking in the distance, I find some of the cables look like threads. I have a few sketches on the go and hope to relay some of them onto paper or fabric. I have transferred a few, using a natural resist paste, on cotton and linen. Then I dipped them into a natural indigo vat (can’t get away from this amazing blue"!) I’ll let you know how it goes.(probably mostly on instagram)

I also hope to have my website shop running soon. In the meantime, I have put a few items on Etsy or I can be contacted directly for customs pieces as usual.

I hope you have a wonderful end of November .

Talk soon and have a wonderful week!
