Technique and process:
The paper I used is a Japanese paper made of natural fibres, handmade by Awagami Factory in Japan.
I dipped it in an organic natural indigo vat, several times , allowing the blue colour to develop slowly and in a gradient manner. I leave the paper to dry for at least one day. The blue indigo is colourfast and ages beautifully. I used the Persicaria Tinctoria, Japanese indigo, grown now in the south of France by a small business. It is a beautiful indigo.
